Can you use Vibration Isolation Pads directly under a pod? Or would it be recommended to place a board between them and the pod?

Congrats... very exciting. If they are the smaller pads, definately place a marine coated 3/4" plywood under or they can push into the bottom. If it is a flat mat, no need. Just make sure when you are filling to not empty your hot water heater or you will get sediment in your tank that can turn brown at first shock.
