Hello, everyone!

So I noticed maybe about a week ago that my tank started having a kind of an off smell to it, so I figured I would treat it with some Spa Boss Spa Shock and ever since the water is now light green and smells like the spa shock still!

I keep up on my maintenance, and occasionally have used the shock in the past, but this has never happened before!

I would also like to note that I went ahead and got rid of all of the water and salt in the tank, cleaned it thoroughly, and put new water in and dissolved the salts (forgot how hard that was). It was fine for a few days, but now it's back! I honestly don't know what to do anymore, any help would be greatly appreciated! I also cleaned the pump and UV sanitizer and put a new filter in.

thank you for any help!!

Sorry about your difficulty. It sounds like you have high mineral concentration, perhaps copper, which turns green when oxidized. This could be introduced by your municipal water or if you aren't using USP grade epsom salt, it could be contaminated.

You can purchase a simple filter when filling up your pod.

Be sure, when you are filling that you do not run your water heater less than 1/4 full. Sediments rest at the bottom of water heaters and when they get to low, the water agitates and stirs up the minerals.

To fix the problem, keep oxidizing. I am assuming you are using non-chlorine shock... keep using that and keep it at 200ppm. Run your filters as much as you can and twice a week add a clarifier to clump the dissolved particles. Clean the filter element regulartly through this process and it should come back to normal within a week.
