I just noticed the following page on their website:http://www.floathouse.ca/franchising/

The Franchise Fee is $29 000.00 with 6% royalties.

You will require $400 000.00 - $500 000.00 to get the doors open. Typically, you’ll need $150 000.00 of your own equity.

What are your thoughts? Seems expensive.

It's a Canadian company so that's in Canadian dollars. $400,000 CND = $300,000 USD

Given that they are not providng all details upfront and people who know the detalls are not permitted to share them, saying it is expensive (@Pink-Elephant) is a gross assumption. Many start-up centers make expensive mistakes that could have been avoided if they were franchisees.

Franchising is appealing to some, not all. There's a place for it and the industry is definitely ready, IMO. True REST has 5 to 6 franchises opening now. I imagine Float House will do quite well in Canada, possibly the USA as wel.

I don't think there's enough information on the site to really make a judgement call on their offer. When you get into franchising, I think numbers play an even more important role than when starting from scratch. It's less about building something and more about return on investment. You'd have to dig a little deeper to make a determination.

$400,000 - $500,000 does seem steep considering you can purchase a nationally (US) branded franchises for equal or less with a much bigger network and support system. But with 3 locations, they do show that their model is repeatable and their branding is very well done.

The market will decide whether or not the Floatation Therapy industry is ready for franchising. What's important is that Float House built something repeatable and very few business can do that. It's very admirable.

Absolute joke. Can start one a hell lot cheaper than this, just pure rip off, floatation centres aren't even ready for franchising just yet. Can build your own, using 2 pods with a leasing company for £30,000 ($55,000) quite easily depending on location.
